What better way to celebrate the anniversary of Kate Moss for Rimmel than with a special edition lip and nail launch? And of the six new lipstick shades in the collection, three red and three nude, I was sent four to play with and to show to you today.
Encased in pretty rose gold packaging and with that sweet, distinctive Rimmel scent, each of the lippies promise 8 hours wear time. All four shades apply nicely and smoothly, and I have no complaints over coverage or colour payoff. The finish is neither glossy nor matte, but somewhere in between, and the product feels light and creamy on the lips.
Of the two nudes I have, it was the pinkish mauve-toned Rock n Roll Nude that appealed to me most in the bullet. Unfortunately it did little for my skin-tone, even after I lashed on some black Scandaleyes liner, though the warmer, caramel hued Boho Nude fared better.
I liked Retro Red well enough, though it isn’t a red but a berry, and a particularly nice berry shade at that. But Muse Red was the out and out winner: a gorgeously bright tomato shade, this really enlivened my complexion and made me look and feel more alive.
I’m missing My Nude and Idol Red but I’m itching to buy and try them both – and at an affordable €10.99, I will probably do just that. Three new shades of Super Gel Nail polish by Kate, €6.95, have also been released, in a nude, a rose gold and a red.
Which shades are piquing your interest?
