Christoph Makeup Review: BB Cream, Concealer, Flash Pen

Christoph Irish Makeup Line Review

What if I told you you could get your makeup done and your peepers primped by the same hands that have tended to Tyra Banks, Cheryl Cole and Nicole Scherzinger?

Well, here’s the thing: if you can get to Dublin, you absolutely can.

Because after honing his craft by working on hit shows like America’s Next Top Model and the X-Factor, Christoph McCormack has come home - to set up his personal brand.

Christoph Irish Makeup Face Swatches Before and After

The first step was the opening of his boutique salon, Christoph Eye Couture, in Dublin’s Powerscourt Town Centre. I was a Christoph convert after my very first visit which you can read about here.

The next step to world domination? Christoph’s own brand makeup – and after my most recent lash appointment, I was given a few bits to try out.

The line includes a lightweight BB cream, €28, that provides light coverage and luminosity to the skin. I liked this a lot: you can see from the before and after photos that it looks incredibly natural but manages to even out my skin-tone and cover up redness. With SPF 25, this comes in shades, fair or light/medium, and I’m wearing the latter.

Christoph Irish Makeup Full Coverage Concealer

If you’re young and fresh-faced this might be all you need, but my mug still needs concealer and thankfully, Christoph’s is great: it’s full coverage but feels lightweight and fluid, and is good both under the eyes and on blemishes, which can be hard to find. It’s €24, as is the flash pen, a YSL Touche Eclat type highlighter that can be used on dark circles or to illuminate cheekbones or the centre of the nose.

The three products combined still looked like my skin, but perfected: I’m not wearing anything else on my face in this photo, taken in harsh morning light (though I am wearing Christoph’s bespoke lashes). I brought a brow pencil, lip gloss and cream blusher with me to top up at work; it all stayed nicely in place for the day, and I touched up again with the concealer before hitting the pub that night.

The range also includes eyeshadow, lipstick and gloss; prices start from €18 or you can book a makeover with the €35 cost redeemable against Christoph’s own brand. Check out his website for more.
