This is a special Christmas here at Fluff and Fripperies HQ: it’s the first year we’ll be cooking for other people, and the first we’re celebrating in our new house. Lovely as that is, it brings its own stresses, so I’m delighted to lighten the load wherever I can. And as the M&S Christmas ad so nicely illustrates, they’re happily on hand to help us celebrate Christmas in all of its sparkly, chaotic glory.

In the style of the brand’s most recent fashion and food campaigns, ‘The Art Of…’, the campaign pays homage to the many magical moments that make a great Christmas, including The Art of The Night Before, The Art of Noise, The Art of Surprise, The Art of the Feast and The Art of 40 Winks. Featuring dancers and models, glitterballs, excited kiddies and ginormous gifts – all set to the soundtrack of Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk – the ad is a whole heap of extravagant fun and is guaranteed to give you the festive feels.

It has a fresh and contemporary vibe, and I think it does a great job in creating a sense of anticipation and excitement about the festive period. It’s all about showing how M&S can help make each moment special, and I’ve certainly bought in: this weekend I ordered a whole heap of foodie treats (today’s the last day to get in your M&S Christmas order, just fyi), and our Christmas table will be heavily inspired by the gorgeous centrepieces on display at the M&S Christmas showcase.
