True story: I own approximately 86 million lip balms which are liberally scattered around my handbags, pockets and desk drawers and yet, yesterday morning, I literally tore the house apart looking for this little miracle worker from La Roche-Posay.
It’s one of those products you kind of forget about until your time of need, which in my case was brought about by flying to Rome (and back), along with a recent dip in temperatures here in Ireland. My lips are not only chapped but hurting in that horrible way where it kind of feels like they’re burnt along the edges, and are crying out for some serious nourishment which the (very spendy) lip balm I had with me on our Italian jaunt could not provide.
I’m pretty sure I’ve written about this stuff before but if you’re not familiar, it’s an extension of the brand’s Cicaplast Baume B5 - a multi-tasking wonder that can be used to soothe pretty much any dry or cracked parts of the body. I used it on my lips too until the dedicated lip product was released; the thicker texture works actual miracles on winter ravaged mouths.
What makes it so effective? The formula contains panthenol to ease inflammation and soothe irritation, along with shea butter to moisturise and provide a barrier against the elements. It’s the best lip balm I’ve ever used, and if you want to keep your pout plumped up this winter, get thee to a chemist and hand over a very reasonable €6.50.
And while you’re at it, there’s an awesome hand-cream in the range which I’d also recommend!
