Decor Daft: 5 Favourite Online Interiors Stores (And What I Bought)

New gaff!
Like every new home owner I've been more than a little obsessed with home decor over recent months and I find, as the weather gets colder, the nesting instinct just gets stronger! Whether you're planning a complete makeover or just want to cosy up your home for autumn/winter, here are my favourite online haunts:

April and the Bear Irish Interiors Online Store

April and the Bear: this Irish online interiors shop sells a small but carefully curated range of homeware, art and jewellery. You might have spotted some of my buys from here on Instagram (follow me here!); I’m obsessed with this marble vase (above right, €18), and a favourite housewarming gift was their copper mirror, now hanging in our bedroom. Don’t worry if you missed the recent pop up store in Temple Bar -  rumour has it, there’ll be another before Christmas!

Vintage Tretchikoff Print Kirkmodern Interiors Inspiration

Kirkmodern:  Mixing old with new is always a winner and some of my favourite pieces (like that Tretchikoff print, above) have come from this wonderful Irish purveyor of vintage and mid-century modern furniture and homeware; tour the owner’s home here on the Image Interiors website. One warning, though: spot something you love? You have to move fast: I’ve missed out on a couple of pieces and when they’re gone, they’re gone. Sign up to the newsletter so you hear of new stock first.

Bouji Chair Made.com Interiors Inspiration

Made.com:  Offering original furniture design at accessible prices, Made cut out the middle-men to offer beautifully designed and crafted items from beds and sofas to light fittings and towels. There’s loads of Made furniture on my wish-list, and we couldn’t be happier with the Bouji chair my mum bought us for the living room. Thanks again mum!

Moss Cottage:  The online version of this quirky Irish gift/craft/design shop in Dundrum stocks an eclectic mix of homeware, decorations and party supplies as well as a great range of the Annie Sloan chalk paints (which my sister tells me are fab for furniture upcycling).  I've yet to buy from here but I urgently require these gold wire storage baskets, €64.95, for my home office.

Rockett St George Homewares

Rockett St George:  Frequently updated, this UK based site is crammed full of unusual pieces for all budgets, from small to large. Fabulous if you love things with a vintage / industrial / mid-century modern vibe although they do have more contemporary pieces too. I’ve ordered everything from these stripey straws to the copper bowl (just seen!) and bell jar - and never been disappointed.

Right now I’m scouring the internet for the perfect blush pink and warm metallic highlights to offset my very grey everything. Oh and rugs: forever searching for decent but affordable rugs.  Between today's post and this one, you've now heard all my secrets - so c'mon, got any recommendations for me?!
