Clarins Pretty Day & Pretty Night Autumn Makeup Collection
There’s loads to love about the Clarins autumn beauty drop and it’s mainly about the eyes, with two new five-shadow palettes, €38 a pop, designed to see you through pretty much any occasion.
The Pretty Night palette is a bit more smouldering and intense than the Pretty Day offering but both contain chic and flattering shades that are soft, smooth and should suit most colourings; these are definitely palettes that you’ll wear and wear.
Earlier in the summer, Clarins Training Manager Siobhan O’Mahony gave us a sneak peek of the palettes in action on the gorgeous Roz Purcell. Here she is rocking a day and night look with the new palettes and, while we might not all have Roz’s model good looks, at least we can steal her makeup style, eh?
I’m also loving the two new Ombre Matte single shadows, €22.50: 07 Carbon is a gorgeous graphite shimmer, whereas 08 Heather is a totes sophisticated purplish grey that I’m really excited about (because I harbour delusions it will make me totes sophisticated, too). The formula of these shadows is brilliant: they’re velvety soft and smooth, which means they apply and blend really well, but they also last well on the eye.
Here's a mugshot where I'm basically wearing all Clarins errrrthang: BB cream (read my review), their most excellent brow palette, Ombre Matte shadows in Heather (lashlines and blended into crease) with Nude Pink as a base (shown here), and Rouge Eclat lippy in Tawny Rose, €28, which is one of two new seasonal shades; the other, Red Paprika, is a warm brickish red.
The collection also includes three shades of brow pencils, €20, and a purple and black kohl eyeliner, €19 each. Are we liking?
