|Emily & Allsun get their pamper on!|
The nail technicians are lovely and talented – check out the artistry on their Facebook or Instagram – and prices start from just €7 for a simple polish change. But – just like with Aviary Lane* – it’s the décor and the general vibe that has turned this South William street salon into Dublin’s best-loved nail bar.
The name kinda sums up the interior style: think pineapples, flamingos and disco balls, with blinging gold accents and a hefty side-order of kitsch. From the postcard wall (speedos feature heavily) to the David Gandy homage in the loo, Trop Pop (as it’s affectionately known) is literally brimming over with vibrant and colourful home decor ideas.
While you might not entirely replicate this style all over your own house (although, hey, you might!), a tropical accent or two is a lovely way to bring a bit of fun and relaxed island charm into the home. I've curated a few of my favourite pieces and in fact, my trigger happy finger has already clicked buy on at least one of these tropical treats (can you guess which one/s?).
currently on sale here; antiqued-gold pineapple book-ends from Rockett St George; limited edition palm print cushions reduced to €20.92!); pretty flamingo light shade ; pineapple jewellery box (possibly the very same one in the Trop Pop image above?); parrot statue (reduced to €19!)from my current obsession, April and the Bear.
In the meantime, you can get your island fix (and your nails made all pretty) by emailing email@example.com. Sure I might see you there.
*And speaking of Aviary Lane, the two salons have teamed up: now, when you fill up your Trop Pop loyalty card, you'll get a free blowdry at Aviary Lane along with your complimentary mani.
