The Seaside Salon That's Well Worth The Train Ride From Dublin

Esthetique Skin and Bodycare Beauty Salon Donabate Dublin

There are many things I’ll miss about my temporary stay in the Irish seaside town of Donabate. Our charming host, who put myself and Mr Fluff up while we rewired and repainted our house. The pretty beach. The genuinely lovely station officers at Donabate Railway Station.  And being just minutes from Esthetique, an excellent local salon that is well worth making a journey to from further afield.

Rebecca's IBPA Beauty Award for Best Massage Therapist
Based on the upper floor of an Edwardian House, formerly the old Post Office on Donabate Main Street, Esthetique is tasteful, charming and packed full of character and period touches – the perfect place to while away an hour or two while you get your pamper on. It’s won numerous awards, including the best massage therapist accolade for owner Rebecca, in the Irish Professional Beauty Awards.

Esthetique offers a lovely experience from beginning to end. Owner Rebecca has more than 16 years’ experience, both internationally and at home, and she really gets the power of the added extras: the soothing music, the crisp and chic d├ęcor, the friendly welcome…it all helps the relaxation process, and lets you leave the world behind as soon as you step through the door.  But it’s the quality of the treatments that’s of ultimate importance – and they didn’t disappoint.

My massage with Rebecca was everything I’d hoped for – and believe me, I was hoping for a lot. Moving is stressful, and my muscles were feeling the strain. My back, neck and shoulders were knotted and tight, but relaxed in the hands of an expert.  I could easily have drifted off to sleep at this point – but the best was yet to come. The treatment ended with a facial massage that, in just a few moments, worked wonders in perking up my tired and dull complexion.

And when I came out, Mammy Fluff was glowing. Her facial had really helped the hydration and texture of her skin - and as an added bonus, the salon specialises in milia removal. Extraction by a skilled aesthetician or dermatologist is the only way to get rid of these harmless, but pesky, white bumps on the skin - and Mum was delighted to have access to this service.

CND Shellac Nail Polish Range at Esthetique Beauty Salon Donabate Dublin

Offering excellent quality with affordable prices, I think that Esthetique has flown under the radar…until now. It's twenty minutes on the train from Dublin - and my advice is to get in quick, before word spreads. Keep an eye on the website to avail of monthly specials (a manicure and pedicure is currently €50). And to help you really make a day of it, when you book a massage or a facial and reference Fluff and Fripperies, you'll get a second treatment of your choice - at half the price.

Fluff and Fripperies was a guest of the salon.
