Maybe it’s this summer’s obsession with all things 70s. Maybe it’s because it works on all skintones and ethnicities. Maybe it’s that it’s Chanel. Whatever the reason, Rouge Coco lipstick in Coco should be adorning your kisser this season.
A delicious corally orangey red, this is ridiculously flattering to wear – it perks up and brightens the complexion, while giving a juicy plumpness to the lips.
I’ve written before about the lovely formula of this range. It manages to deliver a lot of colour and sheen but with a lightweight, semi-sheer and super glossy finish that’s both low fuss and low maintenance, without being low key. There’s a touch of translucency and a lovely luminous quality to the shade; the texture is hydrating and feels creamy, with a good bit of slip.
Coco is as perfect for lipstick beginners as it is for dab hands: it makes its presence known, but without the drama of a more pigmented pout. It was the only lippy I brought with me to London recently – and it came with Karen from Lovelygirliebits, too. We both have very different colouring but the same big love for this shade; check out Karen’s post and pictures here.
Rouge Coco lipsticks are €32.50 and on counter now. You can see Roussy in action here.
