I really like the L'Oreal Elvive haircare line. On the whole, I think they deliver great results at an affordable price – and I admire their commitment to delivering a solution for all hair woes. The Elvive Extraordinary oils were a strand saver when I had longer (and therefore more dry and damaged) hair - but now that it’s shorter and lightened, lack of shine is my biggest concern.
Step in the new L’Oreal Elvive Nutri Gloss Luminiser line, the first ‘lamination system’ for the hair, and a small edit of three products – a shampoo and conditioner, both €5.84, and leave-in gloss spray, which is €14.99.
All three products are lovely and lightweight and smell divine - but, as you can tell by the prices, the gloss spray is the star of the show; it can be used in two ways, before heat styling or as the final step in your haircare routine. The science bit is that by using glycolic, lactic and citric acids on the hair, they get it super clean and smooth (just like they do in your skincare); this encourages light reflection which, in combination with silicones for shine, make everything glossy and gorgeous.
The lovely people at Sugar Cubed salon used all three products on mine and Emily’s hair. We have very different hair types – she’s a hairdresser’s dream, with her silky, virgin (uncoloured!), waist length locks, whereas my wayward strands are thick, unruly and have been coloured to bejaysus.
But we were both mad about the results, as you can probably tell by our grins in these pics. There’s nothing like a glossy mane to put a spring in your step and we veritably bounced out of the salon, swishing and smiling our way through the rest of the day. Obviously, we can’t expect salon results at home but I’m using the products and there’s definitely a noticeable difference. The range is out now and suitable for all hair types – will you be giving it a go?
