Currently Loving: Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Oil & Ying Yu Roller

Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Oill; Ying Yu Rose Quartz Facial Roller

Facial massage is a great habit to get into; it stimulates the circulation, drains fluid from the lymphatic system and helps skin to appear more glowing, fresh and toned. It also feels lovely as it relieves tension from the muscles in the face - and if you suffer from hormonal water retention (which I do), regular facial massage helps to keep that puffiness at bay.

While you can do it with your fingers as part of your cleansing routine (I've got a step-by-step guide here), I find it a lot easier - not to mention more pleasurable - to use this dynamic duo.

Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Oill

I've been loving this new Clinique treatment oil, a first from the brand and part of the April-launching Turnaround Revitalizing range. These products are all about working with the skin's own cycle of renewal, to help create that much sought after healthy glow. I'm trialling a few products at the moment and will report back soon, but initial impressions are good - particularly for this lovely, lightweight facial oil, €38.

Intensely nourishing without being remotely heavy or greasy, it has gentle exfoliation properties and leaves my combination skin feeling smooth, plumped up and hydrated. I've been warming two to three drops in my  hands and patting on to my face and neck before going in with my much-loved facial roller (find it here).

A present from Himself, I included this in my Image piece on the best facial tools, and I'm besotted with it; the larger side is for the face and neck, while the smaller side is for use around the temples, upper lip and eyes.

Known as the love stone, rose quartz is said to be useful for healing and relieving stress so this is supposed to give a wee boost to your mood, as well as your complexion. It's also just a really pretty crystal, which means that these Ying Yu rollers - hand carved from semi-precious stones - are beautiful as well as useful, and have definite dressing table appeal.

While I'm aiming to get rolling on a daily basis, I'm averaging a couple of times a week - which is still enough to give me a fresh-faced glow. Combined with a good skincare routine and the magical exfoliating properties of AHAs, my face is (finally) in a relatively good place...for now!
