First Look: Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer

Ah, Clinique…y'know, once upon a time, they wouldn’t have been my first port of call for colour cosmetics (mascara and balmy lip products, now, were a different story). But things have changed in recent times, with extremely lovely launches like the Cheek Pop blushers and Long Last Soft Matte Lipsticks, not to mention the ever expanding Chubby Sticks franchise.
Now they’re at it again with the April launching Pop Lip Colour and Primer line, a range of sixteen stunning shades of lipstick that combine rich, saturated colour and one-stroke opacity – seriously, check out those swatches – with a built-in, smoothing primer. These babies are delicious, keeping lips comfortably hydrated while sticking around much longer than your average lip colour (about five hours wear with moderate eating and drinking).

L-R Passion Pop, Nude Pop, Wow Pop - one swipe! ONE!
The finish, while not exactly matte, is rich and velvety and these feel really lovely to wear – emollients like shea and murumuru butters are in the mix – and let’s take a few seconds to appreciate the colour-coded packaging, shall we, which makes them instantly identifiable in your handbag.
One word: YUM.
These will be €20 and are on counter from April 17th. Are we liking?
