There were some very kind comments on this makeup and as it uses some of my current favourite beauty bits I thought I’d give you a quick run down on what I’ve been using and loving. It’s a very easy but long-lasting look so I’ve been wearing it lots when I know I have a long day ahead or will be heading out straight after work. There are no skillz required because the products do the work for you - and because just getting out of bed on these dark winter mornings is hard enough!
Rocking a strong colour on both the eyes and lips can look a little heavy, especially for daytime, but not if you mix up the textures. Here the glossy look of the cream eyeshadow keeps things looking fresh and modern, especially with the matte red lip. And the best news? Both are really affordable; the eyeshadow is one of these Max Factor newbies in the colour Bronze (it’s very similar to Tom Ford’s Spice cream shadow) which I told you about here and the lip product is Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Hot Pepper, €7.99, which I showed you here.
Everything else is kept really simple with no blusher but just a touch of contouring using the magical Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette which is the absolute bomb – I’ve reviewed it in full over here and swear it’s the best contour kit I’ve ever tried.
A matte base (I think this is what I was wearing), a lick of mascara and some Benefit Gimme Brow gel completes the look. Tried anything I’ve mentioned? I’d love to hear how you got on.
