NARS Audacious Lipstick in Geraldine: Review, Pics, Swatches

NARS Audacious Lipstick

New lipstick! From NARS! Just the type of candy-sweet news to make our lipstick loving hearts go giddy-up – am I right? And the Audacious range is absolutely on-point: creamy, super saturated colour that lasts – in just one swipe.

NARS Audacious Lipstick

There are 30 available shades here – 40 in the US – and while I’m waiting for the Emma shade (you guys are just perfecting it, right? Right?!) I was pleased to see Anna, my gran’s name, in the mix. It’s a pretty, smokey rose – I think she’d have approved.

The idea here is that you’ll find your go-to colour, your signature shade that you’ll be comfortable rocking day in and day out. I was advised to pick the three I was drawn to and thought I’d be happy to wear on a daily basis.

Studiously ignoring Lana, a vivid orange red, because while I’m crazy for that colour I don’t, for example, wear it to the office, I looked instead to the corals and pinks.

The three I zoned in on were: Juliette, a pink coral; Natalie, which is described as flamingo, and the tangerine Geraldine, which was the first one I tried and which I fell for immediately. The other two shades didn’t even make it to my lips. (But soon, my pretties! Soon!)

Geraldine is gorgeous. The finish is satin and the colour, while intense and luminous, isn’t scarily bright or in your face. It brings a warmth and a lift to my complexion and stays put for a good five hours, feeling comfortable and creamy throughout. The formula applies really smoothly, isn’t drying on the lips and doesn’t accentuate those little dry patches lots of us tend to suffer from at this time of year.

And the packaging? More good news! None of that rubberised casing, but a sleek, squared, black metal case that closes with a satisfying, high-end magnetic click. As it should, mind you, for a €30 lipstick, but I couldn’t fault it. Perfect for gifting, as a payday pick me-up or just because, the NARS Audacious lipsticks are my new favourite thing.
