Bathroom Favourites: Eight Mini Shower, Bath and Bodycare Reviews

Bathroom Favourites from Thalgo, Origins, Rituals, Garnier, Kerastase,, Inecto, Malin+Goetz

I might be spending a little less time in my bathroom since the Irish water charges kicked into effect last month - but it's still one of my favourite places to be.

A room jam-packed with beauty products is my idea of heaven and my philosophy is: there's always room for one more!

My favourite bath and shower products, at any price point, have to be not just effective but fragrant, sensorial, and pleasurable to use; read on for some mini reviews of what I currently use.

Bathroom Favourites from Thalgo, Origins, Rituals, Garnier, Kerastase,, Inecto, Malin+Goetz

ONE Thalgo Exotic Island Body Scrub: Of several Thalgo products I was given to try, this one is definitely my favourite. A high-end, French spa brand, Thalgo isn't too widely available here but of course, the internet obliges and, if you like your beauty bits, it's a brand worth checking out. At €38, this scrub is firmly in treat territory but it should last well: it's recommended for use once a week, for a top-to-toe exfoliation that leaves skin soft, smooth and with a gorgeous glow.

TWO Garnier Oil Beauty Body Nourishing Scrub: More suited to every day use - and more purse friendly - is this oil-infused scrub from Garnier, €10.99. With oils of argan, macadamia, almond and rose, it does a nice job of smoothing and softening the skin - all while smelling really rather lovely. There's also a matching body lotion, €7.69.

THREE Origins Ginzing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser: Formulated without any parabens or sulphates, this is a gentle-feeling scrubby cleanser with a really uplifting citrussy scent. These days I prefer to use a chemical exfoliant, but if you want a gentle, physical scrub that doubles as a cleanser - and you have €34.50 to spare - this here's your guy.

FOUR Rituals Fortune Oil, €11.05: I have so much time for this mid-priced Dutch bath and bodycare brand; the products feel and smell far spendier than they are. With sweet orange and cedar, this smells insanely warming and delicious;  the oil lathers up into a silky, luxe foam that leaves skin incredibly soft.  As you'll know if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook (go on, I'll wait!),  I stocked up on a recent trip to Amsterdam - but there's a concession in Arnotts and you can also find it here on Feel Unique.

FIVE Origins Incredible Spreadable Ginger Body Scrub: One of my all-time favourite seasonal body products, I come back to this sugar scrub every autumn/winter for its warm, sweet, fragrant and body-polishing ways.  It's €32 but, now that the Body Shop's ginger range is sadly discontinued,  this is the only way I know of to get my gingery fix.

SIX Malin + Goetz Geranium Body Wash: I've heard lots about this American, natural brand which was initially created for sensitive skin. I had a reaction to their grapefruit cleanser, but have enjoyed the body wash - both came in a goody bag. You can also use it in the bath, or as a hand cleanser - multi-tasking products are part of the brand's philosophy. Floral scents are not my thing but I'm interested in the rosemary, lime, peppermint, and mojito varieties - and I spotted a cannabis hand and body wash on their site!

SEVEN Kerastase Bain Fluidealiste Sulfate Free Shampoo, €22.10: I don't use heat on my hair so have high expectations from my products to create a style I can live with when I wash and go. Used with the conditioner - which ran out first - this really works to smooth my fuzzy hair. I love Kerastase and would use it all the time if it wasn't so pricey; you can find it a bit cheaper here.

EIGHT Inecto Pure Coconut Shower Creme: Packed with the intensely moisturising coconut oil, this is a really well priced, pharmacy range - most items are below the €5 mark.  Not gonna lie: my main attraction is the scent, which whisks me away to more exotic climes.

What are you using and loving right now? I can always use more recommendations - especially at this time of year, when I'm planning my Christmas shopping!
