SRSLY BBZ, if you don't have a lip crayon (or two) in your stash, you’re missing out. These lipstick/liner hybrids are just about my favourite things, combining ease of use, versatility and fun in one pleasingly chunky package.
My latest obsession? Bobbi Brown’s Art Sticks, which are on counter now for €26 a pop – a similar price point to the NARS pencils, but with more than twice the product (2.2 g vs 5.6). Now inevitably, you’ll lose some of that to your pencil parer, but these are so generously proportioned I think we can forgive them – plus, the sharpener itself is handily included.
They pack quite the pigment punch, and the formula is gorgeous: there’s shea butter in the mix, so it applies nice and creamy and isn’t drying, though it lasts and lasts; I get about 6 hours’ wear-time, which is awesome. The modern matte finish (I'd call it slightly satin) floats my boat - but if it’s not your preference, these are also lovely under gloss.
Available in 8 shades, from the most delicious brights (Harlow Red, Bright Raspberry and Sunset Orange, pictured, being the standouts) to Bobbi’s trademark flattering nudes, these can also be used on your cheeks - making them an incredibly versatile piece of kit.
Depending on your colouring, some shades will multi-task better than others; I wouldn’t wear orange on my cheeks, but it would be gorgeous on darker skin.
These are brilliant for on-the-go (mine lives in my handbag), feel playful and take mere seconds to apply; just line the lips, fill in and admire.
