The Mulberry Tessie Satchel: My New Favourite Thing

Meet my new BFF: the Mulberry Tessie satchel in Oak has been a recent addition to my wardrobe and my life -  but while it’s early days, it’s safe to say it’s love.

The Tessie collection is Mulberry’s newest, more 'affordable' range (that’s in inverted commas because it still ain’t cheap: the satchel is €690 but was a special anniversary gift, PLUS I had a voucher.)

Props to Frillseeker’s Kirstie for helping me out: gently steering me away from the neon pinks and towards a more versatile choice - at least till I’ve built up the staples.

We lingered over a structured Philip Lim number but I have enough bags in black and gold and in the end, after several tours round BTs and BT2, and a sustaining caffeine break  (this was not a decision to be taken lightly), the Mulberry it was.

The shape is beautiful: inspired by vintage satchels from the Mulberry archives, it has an adjustable strap, is deceptively roomy and the hardware is smaller and more discreet than other offerings from the brand. I like it best cross-body, as I’m  wearing it here (with my favourite Cos dress, Second Female necklace and the Bourjois red lipstick from this post).

My favourite thing, though, is the quality of the leather. It’s beautiful and durable: already, I know it will wear better than my Marc by Marc Jacobs bag I showed you here. I hope this will be a bag I’ll use and love for years to come.
