With three Irish salons, in Bray, Delgany and Stillorgan, Anna Schu offers a full range of beauty treatments, from facials to massage and more. Their speciality, though, is nails, and they’re known for their swanky LA-style, pedi-spa massage chairs. So when I was invited in recently, I had my shoes off, kindle out and massage setting on high - faster than you can say ‘horny hooves’.
With about a bajillion pedicures on offer there’s bound to be one to suit - unless you’re contrary and callused, like me, in which case they’ll whip up a custom blend.
I went for a blend of the callus peel pedi (€60), and the Anna Schu Ultimate Experience (€85), which sounded too good to pass up.
The combination resulted in a lovely, leisurely, hour-long treatment in gorgeous surrounds; the bright, spacious salon really took me by surprise and is a very pleasant space to while away an hour or two, sipping on a Pukka three-mint tea.
My nail technician, Aimee, was professional and thorough; she began by applying a callus remover to my tough heels and soles, wrapping them in plastic, before soaking, buffing and smoothing them into shape.
Then came the cherry on top – a generous lower leg and foot massage, which soothed all the aches and pains from my cursedly flat feet into blissful submission. My nails were also trimmed and tidied, before the polish was applied – there’s loads of choice, but I went for a bright red CND Vinylux shade that, almost two weeks later, still looks freshly applied.
I loved this Stillorgan salon; it’s well worth a jaunt and if you live close by, I envy your proximity. Sure I might see you on my next trip out!
