On counter now, Bobbi Brown's latest collection typifies everything I love about autumn beauty: it's proper grown-up make-up, classic but sexy, and all about effortless, everyday glamour. Who wouldn't want to look like Kate Upton in this campaign shot?
It's gorgeous stuff from the outside in - the limited editions are encased in some swish, smoked tortoiseshell packaging - and includes four nude-toned Creamy Matte lipsticks, €26, the Smokey Nudes 8-shadow palette, €58, and a new Shimmer Brick offering, Sandstone, which is €42.50.
Bobbi's Shimmer Bricks have spawned a thousand copies since they first launched back in 2001 - I've tried a few, but none give the same soft, lit-from-within glow as the original. With five shimmer strips in warm rosy bronze hues, the colours can be swirled together or used individually on eyes or cheeks to really lift and brighten the face. The pigmentation's great, so go easy and tap off your brush before you apply to your face.
Here, I've used it all over my cheeks in place of blush, but the super shimmery finish can highlight pores and imperfections - the brand suggest the tops of the cheekbones, for the most flattering effect. I'm also wearing it on my eyes - I smudged Bobbi's Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner in Chocolate Truffle along my upper lashline, then dusted the shimmer brick on top. It took all of two seconds and I loved the fresh and glowy finish.
Soft Nude lipstick is another winner: Bobbi's the queen of the nude lip and this colour is perfect on my slightly sallow skin. With four in the range, if you haven't yet found your perfect nude I'd definitely check these out. The modern matte finish has just a touch of a gleam and feels really rich and creamy to wear; the lasting power is also impressive.
Bobbi Brown is a brand I'm reaching for a lot: the long-wear cream shadow stick in Bronze and Pink Coral powder blush are some of my favourite pieces of kit. And I think these newbies are on their way to joining them.
