It’s been a great summer so far – and I’m not just talking about the weather. Revamping our beauty bags has never been easier, with a bumper crop of new season products, whether they're new-to-market, new-to-Ireland (hello NYX) or just new-to-me (like my current crush on Sally Hansen’s Airbrush Legs).
Clinique have been knocking it out of the park with their beauty offerings of late – the Cheek Pop blushers and Long Last Soft Matte Lipsticks are two of my favourite launches this year. Both formulas kick ass – we’re talking longlasting, luminous colour in a range of covetable, standout shades.
Lips are spoiled for choice with budget brands in particular really punching above their weight. Gloss is back in a big way and Max Factor’s Colour Elixir line feels gorgeous to wear. For more intense colour, look to L’Oreal – their Intense Glam Matte’s are a kickass line of vibrant liquid lippys that dry down to a soft, velvety sheen.
Fun, juicy and exotic, orange is the colour of the summer and has proved to be a surprisingly wearable trend (did you see my top picks for rocking an orange lip?). Tangoed talons are the easiest way to give a nod to the trend – Electric Orange from CND Vinylux is a great longwear option while L’Oreal’s Sari Parisien is a sophisticated blood orange; both look amazing with a tan.
Essie’s Roarrrrange, a bright sunny shade, is their take on the trend but if orange just isn’t your thing, fret not – their summer collection really has something for all. From neutral to bold, their six-strong edit features six cream polishes that are inspired by tribal and animal prints for a walk on the wild side.
