I hope you've been saving your pennies since I told you about Chanel's new lipstick launch. On counter since February 14th, Collection Variation includes a wide range of finishes and shades: some are new, some are limited and some are repromotes but all, without fail, are lustworthy to the max. Allow me to demonstrate...
Chanel Satisfaction Rouge Coco Shine, €30.50, is a sophisticated, peachy nude with a glossy, emollient finish. This formula is billed as hydrating and sheer, but Satisfaction also has plenty of pigment while feeling lovely and moisturising to wear.
It slicks on easily, looks lovely and smooth on the lips and is a pretty, wearable take on the current nude lips trend.
Rouge Allure Velvet is probably my favourite Chanel lipstick formulation. These are beautiful, luminous modern mattes that give a soft, rich finish without feeling remotely drying on the lips. La Malicieuse, €31.50, is a divine, bright, blue-based strawberry red.
It's not as pigmented or opaque as the matte moniker might lead you to believe, but it's all the more wearable for that, and feels lightweight and comfortable while being fairly longlasting on the lips.
Chanel Conquise Rouge Allure, €31.50, is the only limited shade of the three so if you want it, you'd best be quick! It's an understated apricot that looks unassuming in the bullet but comes to life on the lips, thanks to the silky sheen of the Rouge Allure formula and some subtle shimmer.
Corals and oranges are big news for spring and summer and this is an elegant, versatile way to ease yourself in.
All three are exquisite and if you're a lipstick lover, this is one collection you won't want to miss. Which of the three is your favourite, and have you already invested in the line?
