Products That Didn't Work For Me

I don't know if you've noticed, but I get through a lot of beauty products. I’m very lucky to be sent bits and pieces to trial by brands and I also direct a fair whack of my monthly paycheque towards buying and trying new products.

Mostly I write about the hits because those are the most exciting, and if I’ve found something wonderful I want to tell you all about it. But that doesn’t mean I don’t encounter my fair share of misses along the way and hey, it’s only fair to tell you all about them, too. I’d say 90% of the time a product delivers but this video focuses on a few I’ve recently encountered that, on me, just didn’t cut the mustard.

Of course it’s true that just because they didn’t work for me, doesn’t mean they won’t work perfectly on you – and if I’ve mentioned any of your favourites, please don’t hunt me down and kill me. Or even send a few dirty looks my way, I’m feeling fragile today.

Other notable disappointments include the Revlon Baby Sticks (way too sheer) and Laura Mercier's oil free tinted moisturiser (overpriced and underwhelming) but I got rid of both long before this was filmed.

Do let me know your thoughts, and share your recent disappointments in the comments!

I adored that Stila primer, funny how some products don't work for everyone. Loved this video! xx

I was shocked to see the Stila primer on your video as a I know a lot of bloggers rave about it!
I was really disappointed with some Calvin Klein eyeshadows I received in a goody bag.

It was very useful Emma, I was tempted to try the Color Tattoo by Maybelline in that shade but I will go for the rose taupe instead. Kisses! xo

I like the Rimmel concealer :) I love the formula of it & it works nicely under the eyes for me and around my nose as a highlighting / brightening concealer... It's not as good as my Nars though :P

Fantastic doll, I love to hear not only about products that work, but ones that others haven't been so mad about as it gives me more of an idea of what to buy. Loved the video. I hope you have a great weekend xx

I haven't ventured into Stila products yet. It's so pretty, but if it doesn't color correct it, I would trash it too. I was already skeptical about the Stay Flawless, so you just confirmed it for me. HaHaHa Their products are expensive, so you really want to know if they work. Thanks for sharing Emma!

Great video Emma! I hear ya on the primers, I think more are misses than hits as well, I have the mac one and I'm not sure it does anything!
