Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Suspense: Beauty In A Bullet

The trade off for those gorgeously creamy, balm-like lipsticks used to be the coverage: with this type of formula, sheer or semi sheer was pretty much your lot.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Suspense

I say used to be, because with Chanel's latest version of Rouge Coco Shine, you're getting all of the comfort and shine of the original range - but with 30% more pigment.

As a lover of a very bright lip, this delights me - just look at this little lovely, here. Suspense is a beautiful, bright fuchsia with matching shimmer - the sparkle is still sophisticated and subtle, but gives added dimension on the lips.

The colour payoff is fantastic - you get rich, vibrant colour, but the finish is still super glossy and shiny. There's still a slight transparency that gives an almost gel-like effect. I'm quite obsessed.

But what's really great about these lipsticks is how easy and comfortable they are to wear. Buttery and balm-like, they slick on straight from the bullet; because of the soft, creamy formula, they're a doddle to use on the go. They feel lovely and moisturising on the lips and give a youthful, plumped up effect.

None of that comes cheap, of course - €30.50 is the quite considerable damage, which I'm aware is a very hefty price. You can pick up some very good lipsticks at the lower end of the price scale these days and if budget is your primary concern, I'd point you towards them - Bourjois and L'Oreal are both good picks.

But if you're looking for a little bit of luxe, an object of beauty that will brighten up your day (and one that's foolproof and flattering besides), then this should bring you lots and lots of joy. I'd love to know if you're a fellow fan?

Oooh that is pretty, I love these type of lippies, but like yourself, tend to find them a little too sheer for my liking. What looks fab in the tube tends to come out a pale imitation on the lips, and that makes me sad. Will definitely be checking these out in the near future. Are they limited edition or part of the full range Emma?

It looks gorgeous. I need a lipstick really. Something that comes in dark as most lippies don't show up on me too well. It's a gorgeous colour. Hope you had a great weekend doll & will have a gorgeous week to come xx

This colour look pretty! Yes, of course a bit pricy but I think one great splurge on a beauty product is good (if it's what you want) I just bought a fab lippy by Illamasqua, I'm in love with their stuff. *Will have to test these out. Enjoy your week dear. /Madison

It really suits you, completely not my colour at all but it's refreshing to see that it's the same colour on the lips as it is in the tube!
