Clarins Skin Perfecting BB Cream Review, with Before and After photos

From Asian offerings to budget brands, I’ve tried a lot of BB creams in my time and found them to be an incredibly mixed bag. Now, just as everyone else is moving on to the next generation CC creams, Clarins are launching their BB offering. This is a brand that’s synonymous with good skincare, but with this product is it a case of too little, too late?

Clarins Skin Perfecting BB Cream

The answer, thankfully, is no.  My favourite BBs are the ones offering more generous coverage, good skincare benefits and high levels of SPF. And typically, they don’t come cheap: Dior’s Hydra Life is €54.50, Estee Lauder’s Daywear Antioxidant BB is €40. The Clarins version is cheaper than both – it will retail for €33.50 when it hits stands later this month. And, at least in my book at least, it’s better than either.

Before
My skin is not at its best right now, as you can see from these before and after snaps. But the Clarins cream is more than a match for it: it protects against free radicals and sun damage while minimising imperfections, blurring fine lines and giving skin a natural, perfected finish. It's a good pick for oily skin as there's definitely some mattifying action going on, and on my skin it stays put for the whole working day. It’s very good indeed.

The Clarins Skin Perfecting BB Cream has an SPF of 25 and is available in light, medium or dark (I was given the medium).  Will you be checking it out?

I've been using the no.17 one which I do like but I'd like to give this one a whirl. Do you know if counters are offering samples?

They're definitely late to the game! The coverage looks great on you, but I'm so in love with my Diorskin Nude BB cream I'll stick with that until I try the cc creams!

It's gorgeous on you Em and by far my favourite BB so far.

I'm pretty certain Clarins can do no wrong.

Lovely on you! Don't think I can justify a BB cream purchase at the moment though...some day...when I have a real income! :)

I juts read about the launch in a local beauty mag and was eager to find out how it would turn out, so thanks for this review, it sure looks promising!

Sounds nice! I am using the Bobbi Brown BB cream and was given the fair one but I still think I should´ve picked the medium one.... not sure if I´ll buy it again though.

And what is a CC cream?!

Wow.. it does an incredible job! I love how you always do face shots with every review. It's the only way to really tell what a product is like.. and I love it! :D xx

Great review Emma! Looks lovely on you! I don't fair well with bb creams. I always need more coverage. I'll still continue to look. Clarins makes really good products.

Thanks for the review Emma! I didn't even know Clarins offered a BB cream. I'm sticking with the Asian ones for now because I still haven't found one in the US market that isn't anything more than a glorified tinted moisturizer.

I am saying yes.

It's impressive!! During summer you could wear it without any foundation. As it happens a couple of hours ago I was suggesting Kim (a very sweetblog) Clarins' primer. Have you tried it? kisses Coco

This might be enough to tempt me away from my L'Oreal BB Magique cream.

Great review, best one I’ve read on this!! Looks good on you, but my skin isn’t that oily and prob would be a little dark on me aul pale Irish skin!

I love this one too! It look amazing on you!
I just wish the light was lighter. It's a tad dark for me.

I haven't been a BB fan so far but I'm really interested in the light shade of this! x

Definitely seems worth a try - the difference between your two photos is amazing! The price is good too.

It looks great on you Emma, it sounds like it suits your skin really well. I'm not sure how well it'd work on my dry mush, I'd definitely need a much paler shade anyway!
