When I wrote
this piece for Beaut.ie on the top 5 products for dehydrated skin, I hadn't yet
tried this fabulous cream. Dehydrated skin is lacking in water, not oil, and it
can't be fixed by just upping your daily intake of H2O (though that's a good
place to start). Your skin can be dehydrated and oily (like mine) or dehydrated
and dry, or just plain ol' dehydrated.
Do you have an oily t-zone but your skin feels tight elsewhere? Do you have
dry patches on your face, but still get spots? Do you have fine lines that go
away if treated with a really hydrating product? Yup, you're probably
dehydrated, too - most skin that's diagnosed as combination is.

| Left: no makeup; right: wearing only Dr Jart Water Fuse BB cream |
To treat
this skin type, you should look out for products that are rich in hyaluronic
acid. This ingredient occurs naturally in the body and helps retain moisture in
the skin. What makes it so powerful is its ability to attract water, hydrating
the skin and making it look plumped up and radiant. It can be injected (that's
what the filler Restylane is made of, yo), taken as a supplement or found in
all manner of skincare and cosmetics.
And it just
so happens that the Dr. Jart Water Fuse Beauty Balm is packed with the stuff, as
well as being 50 percent water - which makes it the perfect pick for parched
skin. This Korean cream is one of the
few Asian BB creams we can readily get our hands on here in Ireland - find it in Boots for €24 (£18 in the UK - though mine was a PR sample).

| Minimal makeup and Dr Jart Water Fuse Beauty Balm cream |
Perfect for
every day use, it's oil-free - just what my combo skin needs - has an SPF of 25 and gives just enough coverage
to create the illusion of a fresh-faced, healthy glow. Believe me, in January,
on my mug, that's no mean feat! It feels creamy yet lightweight and gives a
real-skin finish. Negatives? It comes in just the one shade, and the coverage can't
compare to my favourite Dior and Estee Lauder BBs - but this one does feel like
it's doing more for my skin. I like it a lot.
Pretty sure
your skin's not dehydrated? Fret not, Dr Jart also offer several different
varieties of BB cream tailored at different skin types. Oh, and word on the
street is that their next offering will be a potted BB gel for Spring -
intriguing!
Are you on
the BB bandwagon or are you more into a full face of base?
Psst! Like the sound of this product, but counting your pennies right now? Make sure you check back to the blog tomorrow morning - that's all I'm saying for now!

Just wondered if you've tried any CC creams that are coming through?

I haven't tried them yet Adele - I know Olay have one coming up and I heard a whisper of a Chanel one, but I have no details of either as yet. But watch this space!
Mine is severely dehydrated at the moment!
I think I may have received a dr. Jart sample on a glossy box or birch box, this looks great. I can see the difference.
This was the first BB Cream I tried, and I absolutely love it. Really great post Emma :)
Great post Emma. The product sounds amazing, considering I tick all the boxes that you've mentioned, and I love the fresh faced look it gave you.
I haven't heard of this brand here in SA before, but it does sound great, i like how natural it makes your skin look and glow. Lovely!
I like the sound of this. Sounds right for my skin.
it make you skin look glowing
You look so fresh faced Emma! I love that it has SPF 25, I can't do without SPF in my face make up during the summer. I have yet to try any BB creams but this one looks great I've read so many positive things about it.
Emma x
This sounds like it has the potential to be a HG, but i'm on a makeup no-buy.
I am definitely on the BB bandwagon. But I am virtually a makeup novice.

I've been wondering about this product! Thanks for the review :)
You're very welcome Andrea!
Looks very interesting...your skin looks gorgeous. Mine dries out a lot. Shall have to check it out. Have a great day doll xx
Love BB creams, have dry skin and would love to try Dr Jart WaterFuse
My sister got me a Skin Food BB cream when she was in South Korea. Gorgeous product, a great shade & apparently dead cheap too. Don't think it has hyaluronic acid in it though. That shade is a great match for you x
Would love to try a few more Asian BBs Eimear, the ones I have used have been fab xo
Thanks for the review!
First one I tried and I love/d it so much! Have never been a daily make-up person though, so I don't know whether it was this specifically or just the fact of having something other than moisturiser on my skin every day, but I started getting clogged pores and then spots. Lots of spots. More than I ever had as a teenager. And of course that means I have to keep using some sort of covering cream/concealer/make-up, and basically for the last 7-8 months I have permanent, horrible breakout, and can't go outside without make-up.
And I never had any problem like that until I started using Dr Jart :-(
