Designer Sunglasses Shopping - Yes, In January! I KNOW!

You know what’s brilliant about this unusually crisp and sunny winter we’ve been having here in Ireland? I’m getting to sport one of my very favourite sartorial combinations on a near daily basis – scarves and shades! Normally this only happens for about 3 days during the autumn, so I’m taking full advantage of this unusually mild spell (and ignoring forecasts for it to change for the worse, and soon).

 

I have several pairs of sunglasses but my Chanel shades are my absolute favourite pair. I got such a kick out of buying them and they brought me so much pleasure for so many years. Now though, sadly, their shiny silver quilted case is no longer shiny or silver, and they’ve picked up several scratches from being well loved over the years. I think it’s almost time to bid them farewell and the only thing cheering me up is the fun of selecting their replacements. These three have really caught my eye:

Made in Italy, these tortoiseshell Persol shades have stylish tortoiseshell frames and grey/green lenses – these would be a very safe choice for me as they're one of my favourite styles.

 However, the baroque style of these Prada sunglasses really appeals to me and I also like the sturdy black frames – this pair really makes a statement.

And finally, the jewel detail in the earpiece sets these Gucci sunglasses apart, along with the delicate frame colour – just divine.
