August Favourites on Fluff and Fripperies: Lancome, Vichy, Avon, Chanel, LUSH

This has been an amazing month for new products what with the roll out of the autumn collections and some great new perfume and skincare launches, too. But when I thought about the products I have been using and loving on a near daily basis over the past month it became a little easier to narrow it down.  Here’s what’s really been doing it for me throughout August.

ONE Lancôme Le Regard Pro Eyeshadow and Brow Kit
I assumed my Clarins kit was more or less immortal. Maybe a little grubby, but everything was in fine working order for the best part of two years. And then one day I opened my makeup bag to find everything covered in little shiny pieces of silver. The packaging gave out before the products did and it’s now impossible to use
Step up this amazing little palette from Lancôme, part of their gorgeous new autumn collection. It’s €39.00 for four shades of powder for eyes and brows, along with tweezers and a double ended brush. It’s limited edition and it hit counters on September 1st so if you want it, run!

TWO Lush Emotional Brilliance Sophisticated Cream Eyeshadow
I showed you some pieces from the new Lush makeup line, then promptly ran out to grab another cream shadow. Sophisticated is a warm leaning taupe with silver shimmer and I’ve been quite taken aback by my love for it. I’ve been wearing this almost every day as a quick and easy work look and it applies easily, blends well and has really great staying power. It’s17.95 but there’s loads of product in the bottle and, well, it’s a superstar. They don’t come cheap.>

THREE Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1
Is it a cleanser? Is it a scrub? Is it a mask? No, you dumbass*, it’s all three – did the title not give it away?! This has all sorts of amazeballs ingredients like salicylic acid, LHA and glycolic acid that encourage the skin to resurface and renew itself. Brilliant for combination to oily skin, this is €13.25 and is a new bathroom cabinet staple.

*ah, you know I love ya really!

FOUR Chanel Coco Noir Eau de Parfum
I love this so much that I smiled as I typed out its name. I’m still smiling now. If you need more happy in your life, read this and then check it out for yourself. It’s sultry, it’s grown up, it’s assertive and it’s mine.

FIVE Avon Nailwear Pro+ Polish
Right now, my nails are banjaxed: I’ve had to cut them short and start from scratch which is why you haven’t seen many nail polishes lately on the blog. I’m nursing them back to health but in the meantime, have rediscovered how very, very good dark polish can look on super short nails. I was given some of the new Nailwear Pro+ shades by Avon (€8) and have fallen for several of them hook, line and sinker – especially this one, Tweed, a gorgeous Rouge Noir-esque type of shade. An added bonus? The formula claims to increase nail strength by 80%.

So those were my bestest things ever last month - tell me yours!

Love those nail colours!! The perfume sounds interesting, have been looking for something new and different, maybe check it out, although I do already have my eye on a perfume I had before that I quite liked, The Dior pure poison one, but I'll give this a go beforehand. Hope you have a grand Monday doll xx

Believe it or not Em, my picks are exactly the same! I'd have to add in SuperWatt from the MAC Electric Cool collection instead of the brow kit & Armani's Eyes to Kill mascara but other than than that we we're beauty twinsies in August x

My August favourites have been the liz earle toner, sally hansen complete salon manicure nail polish in commander in chic, laura mercier shimmer bloc and mac fire sign lipstick!

I'm thinking of getting the vichy 3 in 1, I love anything vichy and it seems like a great idea!

Love the colour of that lush cream eyeshadow too!
