There are very few things in life as pleasurable as a good lipstick. And this one here, YSL's Rouge Pur Couture Mat in Orange Imagine, is a very good lipstick indeed. It's one of six modern matte shades that are new for Autumn, as part of the brand's Contemporary Amazon collection - and it's absolutely gorgeous.

The lipstick is a real beauty. Some mattes can be drying, but this is just the opposite - the formula is packed with emollients and is a quarter silicone gel, so it glides on easily and feels creamy and comfortable to wear. I'm in love with the colour and can't wait to check out the others in the range.
The other piece I received to try out is the Dare To Glow Silky Highlighting Veil. These products are described as complexion illuminators, a cross between highlighter and enhancer, and that's actually a pretty apt description. This is the most wearable highlighter in my collection - it's not shimmery or glittery and it looks subtle but very pretty on the skin. This one is called Fatal Red (though it's a bronzey shade); Tempting Gold and Naughty Pink will also be released.

I'm rocking the Prune Virgin Mat as a lip stain today, it's honestly changed my mind about darker lippies.

The words 'silky highlighting veil' entice me to buy this...
That is a stunning little lippy! And the highlighting veil is really pretty too. It's hard to find highlighters that don't have too much shimmer/glitter so it looks like a keeper.
