Created by Dutch makeup artist Ellis Faas, hailed by Vogue Paris as "one of the most influential make-up artists of her generation", it's strikingly obvious that a lot of love, thought, creativity and hard work has been poured into the range. Aside from the powder, each product is liquid and comes in a shade found naturally in the human body - " from the tawny peach of a freckle to the most vivid red of a vein".
Ellis Faas Cosmetics: Overview, FOTD, and Skin Veil Foundation Review
I've written about Dutch beauty brand Ellis Faas on the blog before (see here and here) and each time, people seem fascinated. And hey, no wonder. These are gorgeous, unique and innovative products that we don't hear too much about, so I'm happy to help spread the word.
And as you can see, the packaging is striking - all products are housed in these sleek silver bullets that can be clipped together, or stored in a cannister style holder.
Last week I wore almost nothing but Ellis Faas products - the details are all here - and there isn't a single one that I wouldn't recommend. I particularly like the foundation, Skin Veil - it looks really pretty on the skin, dewy and natural, but with decent coverage. It spreads and blends really easily and it lasts for the whole day, keeping a bit of a glow but without looking shiny (always a fear with a t-zone as oily as mine is). It comes in pen form or a pump bottle, and I was sent the latter.
My one reservation is the price: the pump bottle is €65, which is incredibly expensive, but look - all that innovation does not come cheap. The eye and lip products are a touch more affordable and my eye is on the Lights eyeshadow range, €32 each - they're the most gorgeous looking metallic shadow pens. I really think the Ellis Faas brand is a classic in the making - I'd urge you to check 'em out now!
Buy Ellis Faas through their website -which ships internationally - or, in Ireland, at Harvey Nichols Dundrum.

Actually that's what I did the first time Sarah when I bought the lip and eye colour I'm wearing here - I wasn't disappointed!

Great review, darling! As always...It's a bit out of my price range for a foundation, but I'll keep this brand in mind. XOXO

Really love the look of these, think they would be great for my handbag as they wouldn't take up that much space!
