May Is Melanoma Awareness Month: Please Take A Few Moments To Watch This Video And Help Save Our Skin!

Quite an important message today, I hope you’ll agree.

May is Melanoma Awareness Month, a global initiative to promote the early detection and prevention of skin cancer.
Here in Ireland, skin cancer is the most common cancer and Irish men are a particularly high risk group. Just one blistering sunburn can double your chances of developing melanoma later in life, and a staggering 90% of skin cancers are completely preventable.

Skincare specialists La Roche-Posay are behind the SOS Save Our Skin campaign to raise awareness and hopefully, get people talking about this issue.
So please, take a few minutes to watch the video, share the message and encourage your loved ones to pop on the sunscreen and regularly check skin for irregularities.
To help save Irish skin, join the SOS Save Our Skin Cause at http://www.sossaveourskin.ie/ and La Roche-Posay will make a donation on your behalf to the Melanoma Trust.

Great post! I'm very careful with my skin because i'm so pale but some of my friends are really bad for lying out in the sun for hours it's definitely something that needs to be understood better and people need to be more aware off the damage that can be caused! x

This is such an important topic emma, I'm so glad you're addressing it! My grandfather had surgery for a malignant melanoma last year and has recovered well, but it was all because he never wore sunscreen on his face when he was younger and worked outdoors all day on farms.

I'm so paranoid about sunscreen and wear it in some form whether in foundation or moisturiser all year round. It really makes me sad when I see people who care more about looking tanned than they do about their health. It's such an easy thing to do to avoid future health problems!

Hope you're having a great weekend so far!

So good to see you posting this because I think it's really important. One of my friends always bakes himself and I feel like a right cow whinging about sun screen, but this just emphasises how important it is :)

Thanks for sharing this video! I am from India and for the longest time people had this misconception of brown skin not needing sun protection, but luckily the awareness is spreading!! Hope you are having a wonderful day!
