Tom Ford Eye Colour Quad in Sahara Haze: Review, Pictures and Swatches!

It would be embarrassing to be kicked out of Brown Thomas for drooling, but I was in real danger of that happening when I first clapped eyes on this gorgeous piece of kit. The Tom Ford Eye Colour Quad in Sahara Haze is probably the nicest eyeshadow set I've ever seen, and as soon as I swatched it on counter, I was a goner.

Not only am I a complete sucker for these types of colours, but the textures of these babies are something else. That green in the bottom left hand corner is particularly special: it's a sheer, grown up glitter that feels almost like a cream or a gel.  It's much more beautiful than it photographs.

The other shadows are excellent, too: there's a pale buttery yellow, a grey toned taupe and a blackened green with fine gold micro glitter.  They're all velvety soft and easy to blend, with great colour payoff - the greyish taupe is the least pigmented of the bunch but that makes it a great shade for everyday, and I've been wearing it on its own to work.

They all come packaged in a gleaming chocolate and gold compact - everything about it exudes sheer class. The shadows are generously sized, but they'd want to be - the palette costs €75. I know, I know. What can I say, it was a birthday present from my mammy! Though if she hadn't bought it for me, it was only a matter of time before I shelled out for it myself: it's a pretty special piece of makeup.

If you want to see Sahara Haze in action, check out this video from the legend that is Lisa Eldridge, as she creates a green smokey party eye.

Tell me, are you tempted by Tom? Do you own anything from his makeup range, or do you want to? To the comments!
