If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen me tweeting last week about #cicaplastbb5. That was the hashtag set up by the team at La Roche-Posay for what they described as their biggest launch in ten years: Cicaplast Baume B5. The product is already huge in France, where 6 months of product sold out within 60 days - without being supported by advertising!
The beauty bloggers, writers and dermatologists of Ireland gathered in the Science Gallery to hear all about this multi-tasking little wonder that reportedly soothes and repairs all everyday skin irritations, cuts and minor wounds.
Now those are some pretty big claims, but we heard from dermatologist Dr. Geraldine Morrow and dermatology nurse Selene Daly, who have been trialling the products, and their results seem to back them up – as do the pages and pages of testimonials from mummypages.ie, who trialled the product with 50 mums around Ireland. Example: “I found the Cicaplast Baume B5 brilliant. It was really easy to use and my hands weren’t greasy after. I’m delighted that it is paraben free, fragrance free, lanolin free and white mark free! I’ve used it on my daughter Laura. She has patches of eczema behind her elbows and knees and is always scratching. The redness went down after a couple of applications and is pretty much cleared up now. I used it twice a day and she didn’t mind me putting it on her at all."
Just some of the recommended daily uses for Cicaplast Baume B5 include eczema, dry patches, infant redness, grazes, cracked skin, sensitive skin, sunburn and nappy rash. It can even be used on new tattoos, and on the lips!
The product is available from pharmacies now, priced at €12.50 for 100ml. Will you be picking up a tube?
If you’re new to La Roche-Posay, why not check out the product overview I wrote for beaut.ie here.
