Fashion Fix: Rockport SS12 and AW12 footwear collections

Aren’t these babies beautiful? They were my favourite piece from the recent Rockport press day, where I caught up on their spring, summer and autumn collections for 2012. You’re looking at the Presia Zip Shootie and Mary Jane, and they come in a wide variety of colours and textures including black suede with contrast piping, beet, black and nude python embossed leather and a gold/blue exotic anaconda embossed leather, as well as the leopard print lovelies you see here.


I’m a big fan of this US brand, which has been available in Clerys for a number of years and opened its first Dublin store on Wicklow Street last April. The Rockport ethos can be summed up in one word: walkability. Their collections channel key seasonal trends that not only look good but are kind to the feet, too, thanks to the use of proprietary sports technology (the company is owned by Adidas).
