Fluffy little pick of the week: L'Occitane Pure Shea Butter
This unassuming little pot of 100% pure shea butter from French cosmetics house L’Occitane fell into my lap like manna from heaven, during a particularly bad skin spell the other week. Thanks to an allergic reaction, my poor face had dried out and puffed up to epic proportions and become extremely sensitised, reacting badly to anything I tried to soothe it with. The brand had just sent me some samples from their new Shea Butter range – which launched nationwide last week - and this natural beauty balm was the only thing that worked to nourish and repair my skin without irritating it further. After two days of liberal use, including around the eye area, things had more or less returned to normal -- and my little pot was close to empty. This is a new essential for my toiletries bag and at just €8.95 for an 8ml tin I might pick up a couple, just so I don't run out...
L’Occitane’s new Shea Butter range also includes an Ultra Rich Face Cream (€36.95), Protective Cream with SPF 20 (€36.95) and Ultra Gentle Moisturiser (€31.95). It’s available from L’Occitane stores nationwide or from Arnotts, Dublin.

This is a miracle worker...I can attest! Happy weekend!
SkiN reactions are the worst! I will have to try that next time that happens to me. Usually I just use cortisone for 3 or 4 days, this sounds much lovelier . Badbarbara.com

I love this stuff.
Did not know that l'Occitane was that expensive. I see one of their stores in Manhattan but was never tempted to go in to check what they have. Now with prices like these, they will not see me. Shea butter is really good for skin but also for hair. It it so rich that it turns dry skin/hair into a smooth one. I use the raw shea butter. $5 the pot. It can last for months.

This sounds good and not overly pricy! Hope your face is better soon, I had a similar experience a few weeks ago - not fun!! x
Is it new? What is different from the old shea range?
I have this, but only use it on my lips. I feel like I only got the full effect after I moved to a warmer climate because it goes rock hard in the cold and it's hard to smush it properly before putting it on.
It is a little miracle worker on dry lips!
Hey T, as far as I can tell there were shea body products out already but the new range comprises the 3 products mentioned in the post.
nice idea.. thanks for sharing.
