NOTD: China Glaze Ruby Pumps, Review + Swatches

I mentioned this nail polish as part of my guest post on beaut.ie this week. If you haven't read that post you can check it out here -- let me know where you stand on the great glitter debate!

Quite simply, Ruby Pumps by China Glaze is Christmas in a bottle. It's a beautiful sparkly red that dances in the light, evoking all the magic and wonder of Dorothy's slippers. It's much, much prettier on the nail than in the bottle, or in these photos.

Two coats are all you need and, for a glitter polish, it goes on really smoothly and doesn't feel the least bit gritty. (Getting it off is a different matter, but with glitter, that's par for the course.) I wore this to my Chrismas party last week: festive, flirty and fun; what's not to love?!?

Well, just this: it's kinda hard to come by on Irish shores. You can pick up China Glaze in Sally Hair & Beauty Supplies (there's one on Drury Street in Dublin), but this particular polish is from The Wizard of Ooh Ahz Collection and isn't always available  -- it was first released in 2001 and re-released in 2009 due to popular demand. All's not lost though: you should be able to find it pretty easily online, and Amazon.co.uk are currently selling it for £5.95. If you know where else you can find it, let me know in the comments!

Are you partial to some seasonal sparkle?
