Three reasons to love Lancôme’s new Golden Hat Powder in Goldenescent Glow

Billed as an ‘illuminating smooth powder’, there are three main reasons why Lancôme’s pretty, pale-pink-and-gold beauty powder is just perfect for the party season.

  1. Guilt free glamour: The very likeable Kate Winslett has created this collection in aid of her Golden Hat Foundation for children with autism; Lancôme have pledged €150,000 to the cause.
  1. Objet d’art: Quite apart from any philanthropical considerations, this is a gorgeous piece of makeup. Like Lancôme's recent Maison Lancôme powder, this is beautifully designed; Kate’s signature in gold adorns the limited edition black packaging.
  1. Just the right amount of glitz and glam: This is a well thought through product; the glittery overspray adds the required sparkle for the festive season (best kept for the tops of cheekbones), but come January it will have vanished with the other excesses of the season to leave a pretty blush (if you're pale skinned) or an all-over finishing powder, if you're warmer toned. Genius!

These pics don't really capture the sparkle but if you look to the left of the bottom left image, you can see the glittery overspray.

The Golden Hat collection is available from Lancôme counters nationwide and also includes five shades of L’Absolu Rouge lipstick (€25) and Le Vernis nailpolish at €20.50.  The powder, which I was sent by the brand, comes in at €45.
