Review of Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-enriched renewal cream

Loss of radiance is one of the tell-tale signs that my skin is getting older and so I jumped at the chance to try out this radiance-boosting night cream that promises to ‘delete the appearance of dullness’.

Origins products are packed full of powerful, plant-derived active ingredients and this night cream is no exception. It’s enriched with Vitamins C, E & H along with calcium, to seal in moisture and protect against future dehydration, and magnesium, to soothe dry skin. It also contains skin resurfacing agents like salicylic acid (great if you’re prone to blemishes), chestnut sativa extract to renew skin’s surface and fennel seed, to tighten the appearance of the skin.

Sounds good, right? And it is. Very.

Some night creams can feel very heavy on the skin but this has a lovely, light, almost gel-like texture that absorbs quickly. Combine that with a pleasant, zesty scent –- think citrus, mixed with vanilla and neroli oil -- and you have a product that’s pleasant and enjoyable to use.

The results are more pleasant yet – the little dry patches under my eyes have vanished, and my face feels less oily in the mornings. My skin looks more even-toned, and yes, I would say it’s brighter looking and feels hydrated and ‘plumped up.’

The cream costs €42 for 50ml, which seems expensive, but a little goes a very, very long way - I’ve been using this for about a month now, and as you can see I haven’t made much of a dent in it. I’ll be surprised if this tub doesn’t last me a good six months at least and I’d certainly repurchase: the results, combined with the lovely texture and gorgeous scent, have made this a favourite part of my night-time routine.

You can buy Origins in Ireland from Arnotts, Boots in Liffey Valley, House of Fraser Dundrum and Belfast and Debenhams in Cork and Belfast.

Dying to give this a go myself! I used the old version of Night-A-Mins for years and loved it, then of course kept trying new creams, when I heard this was coming out, I was v v excited so will add it to my list :)

Hey Emma- This was a fab review! I'm on the hunt for a good moisturizing lotion that will help with some discoloration from dryness that I have around my mouth. These products that emphasize their natural ingredients really do appeal to me... and thanks to your review, I'm thinking I might give this one a try! (It's so overwhelming with all the brands out there to research.. seriously...)
