NOTD: Galaxy mani from The Alpha Nail

I had heard amazing things about Aoife from awesomely named The AlphaNail and had already resolved to try out her signature Galaxy manicure -- so you can imagine my delight when I won Sarah’s giveaway on The Licentiate

Dublin’s answer to WAH nails founder Sharmadean Reid, Aoife is one seriously impressive and talented lady. She’s described on her website as an ‘entrepreneurial nail art enthusiast going into her final year of college for a degree completely unrelated to nails’. A lot of hard work and effort has gone into Aoife’s designs and they’re all absolutely gorgeous, ranging from animal print to tribal to designer inspired patterns and motifs.

Because of her course work, Aoife currently only takes bookings on Saturdays, working from a corner of the hip vintage clothes shop 9 Crow Street, in Dublin’s Temple Bar.  In just a few short months she has amassed a celebrity following that includes Cici Kavanagh and Lili Forberg, and has already featured in The Irish Times, The Sunday Times and U magazine.

I stopped by on Saturday before the Beaut.ie Gorgeous To Go book launch in Brown Thomas and to say I was delighted with the results would be putting it mildly. These pictures don’t do justice to it’s sparkly multi-dimensional wonder so I urge you to check out her work for yourself.  Make an appointment through Aoife’s Facebook page or email  her on aoife@thealphanail.com.

Prices €15-30 depending on design.

UPDATE! My manicure is famous. Check it out here and here!
