Moustache Season is coming: will you adopt a Mo this Movember?

I’m not sure if Mr Fluff is dreading or looking forward to the onset of November when he’s pledged to grow a Mo to raise awareness for men’s health. Yes, Movember is back for the fourth year running and men across the country are preparing once again to support this fantastic initiative that last year raised a whooping €55 million globally, and €1.6 million here in Ireland.

From top left: Dublin's Mo community at Coppinger Row; Bitter Gentlemen cocktails with Slane Castle whiskey and lemon juice; the mo-adorned DJ; Slane Castle whiskey display; Movember bike; enjoying a Bitter Gentleman with Fash Mob's Rosemary MacCabe.

Ireland’s Mo community were out in force at the recent Dublin launch in Coppinger Row, which was a really fun night for a really serious cause. In Ireland, 2,700 people are diagnosed with prostate cancer annually with over 500 Irish men dying from the disease each year. Movember is the perfect way to raise awareness and funds and all the money raised in Ireland goes directly to the Irish Cancer Society’s initiative, Action Prostate Cancer.

There’s a role for us women, too, with the arrival of a new Facebook app that allows Mo Sistas to support registered Mo Bros, by pledging €1 a day for the full month of Movember.  The app will allow you to donate directly to the participant and will be live on Facebook at the start of Movember.

Mo Sistas should encourage their Bro to register at Movember.com, ensure they start the month clean shaven and encourage them to grow and craft their Mo throughout Movember.

Will you adopt a Mo this Movember?

Thanks Joanne - those are moustaches, not beards! And they were very tasty indeed. Can't wait to see himself with a mo!
