NOTD: Catrice, Mona Lisa Is Staring Back

The messy application is on me, not the polish!

Today’s NOTD is the eccentrically named Mona Lisa Is Staring Back, from the Ultimate Nude collection by Catrice. I think this polish is something special: it’s a gorgeous, creamy looking nude with gold shimmer that looks really elegant and expensive, which belies the price-tag of about 3 or 4 euro. Nudes can be streaky but this one is the exception - though it did need 3 thin coats to get the finish I wanted.

It's hard to capture that gold shimmer, but trust me, it's in there!

I can’t say enough good things about Catrice polishes: I now have 3 in my collection and there’s not a dud among them. The colours are fab, the names are quirky and original and they apply and wear just as well as polishes 4 or 5 times their price.  I shall quickly be extending my collection!

Oh and c'mere to me, while you're here, why not enter my latest giveaway to win a set of three lip products that were recently raved about by top makeup artist, Lisa Eldridge?

I love this brand - my local pharmacy started stocking it a few weeks ago and I cannot say enough good things about it - great quality at a really great price. Their eyeshadows are fab too.

I like Catrice products - the eyeshadows are really good quality and their mineral pressed powder is the best I've found. However I do find the polishes chip really easily, but at 2.79 or whatever I paid (wearing Raspberry Fields Forever atm) - well I can't really argue with that :)

@Magatha May It was a great day for me when my local chemist started stocking the range, could while away hours in the place now!

@Nay Their mineral pressed powder is the best you've ever tried?! I must investigate! I find their polishes wear well but then I'm using the Sally Hansen InstaDri anti chip top coat with them, which could be a factor.

I. WISH. I. HAD. NAILS!!!

This is beautiful though - However, I shall apply it to your nails in September when you are in Scotia - as your application skills ain't quite up there with your writing skills Mrs Fluff :). Me? Well I was trained by the best - and in that I have no nails of my own, take great joy in painting others....

@Sara Oi! Cheeky! They look worse in the photo than they do in real life, honest.

Bought this shade today, really is a lovely colour, just one coat is nice for a light shimmer but I like that you can build it up too. Thanks for the heads up!
