First thoughts on Lancome Visionnaire: WOW.

Lancome Visionnaire Serum

I’m really trying not to be too gushy about this product because I have only been using it for five days - and not the recommended four week minimum to reap the full skincare benefits – and so I am trying to remain objective until I come back with a full report. But it’s hard, because OH MY GOD IT’S BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVE IT AND I NEED IT AND IT’S MINE!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, bugger.

Lancome Visionnaire Serum

But it really is, you know. Beautiful. Just look at it. And lest you think I’m shallow, I was all het up about this little beauty long before I clapped eyes on its sleek silver and aqua bottle. Because let’s face it: it’s hard not to be excited about this particular product launch, especially if you’re a hardcore beauty junkie like myself.

Twelve years in development, Lancôme’s Visionnaire contains a brand new beauty molecule, LR 2412, that has been INDEPENDENTLY TESTED by scientists at Manchester University for proven efficacy - they said they were “impressed with what we saw.”

LR 2412 is multi-tasking because it has multiple effects within different areas of the skin.  And as a result, Visionnaire can target several different skincare concerns at once:  billed as an ‘advanced skin corrector serum’, it can reduce wrinkles, minimise pores, correct pigmentation irregularities and restore radiance.

Proven to be as effective as retinol, it’s also more gentle on the skin: it can be used around the eyes, and on all skin types, even the most sensitive.

I know, right? WOW. There’s loads of science and research behind it and I suggest you check out this short little video clip for more.

I was sent it to trial and have been using it for five days, which is obviously not long enough to give you a considered review. But already I see a difference in the texture and tone of my skin: I feel fresher, and brighter, and did I already say wow? Because…wow.

Lancome Visionnaire Serum Swatches
Visionnaire is a lovely light pearlescent fluid that's easily absorbed.
For now, and as of last week, Visionnaire is available exclusively from Lancôme counters at Brown Thomas stores in Ireland, and Selfridges in the UK. It launches worldwide from September 1st, priced at €70 for 30 ml of product.

Now €70 euro is spendy, so I suggest you rush on over to the Lancôme Facebook page to sign up for a FREE 10-day-trial to try before you buy -- and please, do come back and tell me what you thought. I’ll be back in 3 weeks to give you a more considered opinion. Which I’m hoping can be summed up as: WOW!

Hi Emma
I used this a couple of years ago and I thought it was great. It had a lovely texture and lasted a long while, which is a good thing considering the price tag.

Thanks guys - and don't worry @JulyGirl, I'm not going anywhere! I just meant I'll give you an update on this product in 3 weeks, when I've been using it for a month like they recommend. I'll be blogging between now and then though, so hope you keep reading :)

Ha, now you have me totally sold on this as well! I actually thought it was going to be pricier when I read 12 years in development... going to sign up for the trial I think.

Thanks all! @littlet, I hear ya; while it's not cheap, I wouldn't have been surprised if it was anything up to fifty quid more, given the research that's behind it and the new beauty molecule etc

In NY I got this from Macy's and have been using it for a week now. By the end of the second day all I could say was WOW and it just gets better! My entire face including around my eyes feels smooth, my pores are smaller and I can leave the house without foundation - something I never thought I'd do. Can't wait to see how it is after 4 weeks. WOW doesn't begin to cover it. Best product ever.

I didn't have nearly as much success as others seemed to have using this product. I had read about it in a magazine then came online to read other reviews about the product and went out to purchase it the next day as the reviews were excellent. After the first few weeks it seemed to work, my skin seemed to clear up as I have very sensitive skin and am prone to breakouts. After about the 5th week of using it my skin seemed to go back to how it was before hand. I've been using it now for a full 2 months and am definitely not satisfied with the results considering how much it costs. I still have about a third of the bottle left, I'll finish using it but won't buy another and would tell others to really consider trying it as it is quite expensive.

I have been using Lancôme’s Visionnaire since end off October, 2011. I am Indian and 40 year and my skin was oily, had large pores, very uneven and blotchy with slight pigmentation on the left cheek. I went to the Lancome counter at House of Fraser to buy a foundation. The sales advisor sold me this lovely product and said, once I had used it my skin would transform into beautiful glowy skin with decreased pores etc. She told me to use it for atleast 6 weeks before I saw the difference. I bought it and have used it daily and my skin is beautiful, very even, smaller pores, skin is soft and refined and is radiant. I am so pleased with this product it's the best. I use it in the morning after i have my shower.

Hi, I looked for the 4 week follow up too. I was given a small sample yesterday as I was buying my usual lancome products.

My skin type, large pores on t zone, brown pigment on neck with white areas in it. Had lots of laser treatment on that area to take out the colour and even it out. Hate my pores being so big especially on my nose. I look like the old guy from the "Streets of San Francisco" series. If you don't know what I mean, you're too young.

Anyway, I used it last night after cleansing, and either my eyes are blurry this morning OR it has already made a difference, my pores are not as defined.

I looked on here to check out reviews and was disappointed not to find the four week follow up.

i bought lancome visionnaire. but i'm only twenty. i havent opened it yet. is it too early for me? if i use it can i apply it to my eyelids and to area under my eyes? thank you for your help !

You are not too young for the product. If you are concerned with pores/pigmentation, open it and start using. I you are going to use it round about the eyes, always apply on the bone. Don't go any further in. The eye area is very fine and is like a sponge, the minute you put a product on the bone area, it soaks straight in. Also, too much product round the eye area can block your pores. For best results, keep to the bone area. Hope this helps

Hi all, sorry there's no follow-up - due to something entirely unrelated I had to stop using the product after a couple of weeks. I had an allergic reaction - not to Visionnaire, I hasten to add - and switched to products that were prescribed my my doc. I do plan to revisit this at some stage in the future but my impressions were very good while I was using it. xo
