Happy Ears and April Skies

My colleague Nicola travels to India a lot for work, and inspires much envy with the gorgeous array of scarves and jewellery picked up on her travels. She put big smiles on the faces of all the women in the office yesterday when she arrived back from her most recent trip, generously bearing a bulging bag of pressies for all. I love my pearl drop ear-rings and black chiffon scarf with embroidered bronze edging. Aren’t they pretty?

I’ve resolved to ask Nicola to pick something up for a little giveaway the next time she sets off on her travels. But in the meantime, here’s a treat to make your ears as happy as mine are this morning. April Skies is my favourite song from the amazing Scottish indie band, the Jesus and Mary Chain. Please ignore the dodgy 80s hairstyles and focus instead on the puzzle of the Reid brothers sounding both light and dark, crisp and fuzzy, melodic and heavy, all at the same time.  It’s beautiful stuff. But don’t take my word for it, have a listen for yourself.
